DCMTK is one of the most popular DICOM libraries world-wide, and it is even available for free. As a spin-off from the institute OFFIS maintaining DCMTK we can offer great experience around the topic!
The DICOM Toolkit “DCMTK” is an Open Source C++ library that implements large parts of the DICOM standard. DCMTK is available under a BSD-style license and therefore can be used free of charge also in commercial (and even closed source) projects.
Officially maintained by the research institute OFFIS, we are closely working together with their team to keep DCMTK up-to-date, add new features and fix bugs.
